A couple of months ago people were kind enough to give me instructions for copying recipes to Mastercook. I figured out how to import it to the program but I can't get it to fill in the new recipe file. Does that make sense? Do you have any ideas what I am doing wrong? I would appreciate any help you may have! Thanks!

Kathy,
After you copy the recipe from the BB (or wherever), open the cookbook where you want to place the recipe. Then go to File/Import Assistant and when the rectangle comes up, place you cursor in the open space and press Control V to paste the recipe. Then rearrange the recipe into a reasonable facsimilie of the format in the MC recipes, leaving one space between the title and the ingredients and a space between the ingredients and the directions. Then right click on the recipe and choose select all. Then press the Auto-Fill button and the recipe will go into the recipe format. You may need to rearrange a little to make it look like the rest of the recipes. Hope this helps. The directions in the program are really not helpful at all.

Thanks for your help, Elinor! I am not sure what I am doing wrong...I can't "select all" my pc isn't highlighting this..do you have any idea why? I am truly a computer moron!!! Thanks again for your help!
Kathy
From one computer moron to another....I really struggled with Master Cook to learn how to import recipes. Even my teenager couldn't do it for a while! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/confused.gif
I copy my recipe into the import assisant box and then send it to the recipe section by section. First I highlight the title and click "move to recipe". Then I send the ingredients to recipe, after first selecting Ingredients in the box below. When done I click "Done" and add anthything else I want to add to the recipe before I save it, like catogories or notes. There might be an easier way to do this, but this method is pretty quick and it works for me! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
It's pretty slick, once you get the hang of it! Good luck.
