I am looking for a cocktail recipe to serve at bunco next week. I'd prefer something not too potent (I assume most people have been indulging more over the holidays, and are ready for a break from that--although maybe that's just me). And I don't really care for champagne, but I won't be drinking a lot since I'm hosting so I'm not entirely opposed to including it for everyone else.

I found some interesting things on the Winter Cocktails Slideshow (http://www.bonappetit.com/recipes/slideshows/2008/12/cocktail_a_day#slide=1) at bonappetit.com.

I was thinking maybe something with pomegranate juice?

Or I also have a big bottle of Maker's Mark that I won't drink - in past years, I have stirred that into mulled cider for the bunco ladies. Delicious, but I think of that as more of a fall thing, I guess.

What are your favorites?

Throughout the Christmas holidays each year, we make mimosas with champagne, of course, and cranberry juice and Triple Sec, or pomegranate juice and Triple Sec, or cran-pom juice and Triple Sec. We've gotten to the point of preferring them this way over orange juice. They're festive and delicious and depending on who's making them, they can be very light on the alcohol. Guests who are very light drinkers especially seem to enjoy this drink. And it's easy to make and fairly inexpensive. We make pitchers full.
