Hi. Wondering if anyone is interested in starting a dinner club. I am in my mid-twenties, single and vegetarian. New to the seacoast area, I have a passion for food and cooking and looking for others who feel the same.

Hi Sarah - I live right down the road in Rye and while not a vegetarian, I'd be interested in a local supper club if one was organized. I'd also be willing to try vegetarian recipes (trying to eat healthier lately). I am a single mom, 37 yrs. old. Of course, kids would stay at home!

Hello, I'm over here in Manchester, and I'd be willing to drive out to the seacoast in order to participate in a Supper Club. I don't mind the vegetarian fare at all. I'm also a single mom, but my son is away at college.

Hi! I'm interested in joining a cooking club. I'm not a vegetarian, but don't mind eating veggie and do need to eat low fat. I'm in my mid-thirties, single, and live in the Concord, NH area. A trip to the seacoast area is always a welcome one. Please let me know how I can get involved with your group.

Hi...
I am in my mid-twenties and a vegetarian as well...and would LOVE to get a group together for some great cooking! I live in Manchester, NH, but have no problems with traveling to the Seacoast area if there is enough interest there. Keep me posted!

Hi guys. I haven't even heard from Sarah yet. But there are at least 5 (well, with Sarah)of us now. That ought to be enough, eh? Would you like to meet somewhere for dinner and discuss how we want to make this work? Want to wait for more people? Sarah, are you out there? Hope you weren't on flight 11!

Hi! I just replied to a post for the seacoast area too. It was just one person, so maybe the two of us can join up with you guys? anyway, I'd love to get a group going in the portsmouth area. any thoughts on getting together?
I used to be veggie too, and still enjoy veggie meals, but have stepped over into the meat world, so either way works for me.

I have a veggie friend who says the Portsmouth Brewery has a decent selection of vegetarian dishes....what night of the week (or weekend) would work best for everyone? I either need to do a wed. or thursday...6ish? Maybe if there are enough people for veggie and non, we can be two groups. But let's all get together and talk.

I don't mind driving to Portsmouth to join the supper club there, but as I live in Manchester, and work in Londonderry, getting to Portsmouth at "6ish" in the middle of the week is impossible. A Saturday would be the only day I could make it by "6ish". In fact, I'd have a hard time making "6ish" if we met in Manchester.
If we got together to discuss forming a group, could we not meet for lunch on a Saturday?

Lunch on a Saturday works great for me, too! Next Saturday I am out of town, but maybe October 6th, or 13th? Which date works best for everyone?

October 13 works for me. Does 12 PM sound like a good time, or do we want to try a little earlier or later to beat a lunch rush?

Okay, Oct. 13th it is! Want to say 11:45 at the Portsmouth Brewery? That way the early arrivers could get a table for everyone. How many of us will there be?

Bummer. Can't make it the 13th. Family coming from out of town. I'd love to hear about your meeting though. Please post after you all meet! I'd love to still join in!
Thanks.

I can make the 13th!
Now for those of us who are Portsmouth-challenged, directions.
Also, is parking available close by? Portsmouth can be extremely nasty when it comes to finding a parking space.
Although.... I'd be happy to meet somewhere central, and then either walk or car-pool to the restaurant, if parking near the Portsmouth Brewery is limited.

Hello all!
I must offer my apologies. I found out this weekend that some relatives of mine who I only get to see a couple of times a year are visiting from New Jersey on October 13, and thus I will be unable to attend the planning meeting. I do hope you plan lots of neat stuff, though, and still count me in. If you do decide to split into 2 groups, please include me with the group closest to Concord, and I'm fine with a meat-eaters group, too. Please post the outcome of the meeting so I can do whatever you folks need me to help with. Thanks.

Hi all, are we still on for next sat, oct 13th at 11:45 at the Portsmouth Brewery? Looked like there were 4 of us who could make it. I also wanted to know if you all are vegetarians. The original poster was looking to start a veggie supper club, which is fine with me, but if none of us are vegetarians, we don't HAVE to stick to that. Either is ok with me.

I have joined a "southern NH" cooking group, since it is closer to where I live, so I won't be joining the October 13th meeting group in Portsmouth. I wish you all luck with the Portsmouth cooking group and hope you have a great meeting!!! If anyone is closer to the Manchester, southern NH area, and wants to join this group, please send me an e-mail!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know that I will not be attending this Saturday's mtg in Portsmouth. One of my executive mgrs unexpectedly passed away this morning and the funeral will be sometime this weekend. We're still waiting for more info. Hope it's successful and lots of fun. Please keep me posted. Thanks.

Hi all,
you know, since it is down to just two of us who would probably be meeting, why don't we just pick a new date to get together. maybe like sat. oct. 27th or sat. nov. 10th? Would be nice if all of us could meet. Just an idea!

Hi all!
I am sorry you folks had to cancel the meeting this weekend, but am glad that now I'll have another opportunity to get in on the ground floor. I'm not available on October 27, but November 10 looks good. What do y'all think? Also, can I bring a friend?
I had been thinking about starting a supper club, and when I saw this thread I had to respond. I live just over the border in Amesbury, MA. I'm 42, divorced and I love to cook. My friends always rave when I entertain, but cooking for the football crowd tends to limit the menu - the smoked salmon canapes topped with caviar just didn't feel right :-).
Let me know how I can get involved.

Hi Everyone, and Welcome Jim,
If we meet on Sat. October 27th at noon at Portsmouth Brewery, who can be there?
As of right now, the 27th around noon looks good for me.

Hey folks
Sorry I didn't reply to the recent posts on meeting October 27 - my server has been down since last Wednesday. As I mentioned in a previous post, I am not able to meet that day, but still want to be involved. Please post the results of the meeting so I can help out with everything.
Thanks!

Could someone help me out? I'm just a little concerned because I've recently posted a couple of messages, and subsequent messages from others sound as though mine haven't been read. I know when it comes to computers and the internet, sometimes I don't do things correctly and I'm wondering if I somehow messed up and didn't realize it. If others are receiving my posts, could someone verify that they've been read and ease my mind for me?Thanks.

Connie, I have received your messages and as I understand it, you are NOT able to make a lunch tomorrow. I know, sometimes this board emails me that someone has left a reply, and sometimes it doesn't.
I can make lunch tomorrow in Portsmouth, but it sounds like ginnamac and I may be the only ones who can. I'll check back in the morning to see what's going on.

Well, Jim, if you're up for it, then so am I. The way I look at it is that we could go ahead and get the ball rolling on this thing, and others can join in. Let me know what you think

The one Saturday I have to work at my cafe - but, Please someone call me if you think you may still be there at 2:30 - I can zip right down. 363-4637 thanks alot. carla
Ginnamac -
Seriously, if it's just going to be the two of us I'm not sure we can accomplish anything. We need to agree on a bunch of things - when's the first meal, who's hosting it, what's the format (cook-along or bring prepared dishes come to mind), a menu (or at least a theme) and probably assigning dishes.
It's 10:30AM. I'll stay online until 11AM for your reply. If I don't hear from you by then I won't have time to get to the Brewery, so I'll clean the oven insteadd (not something I enjoy).

Agreed. Maybe we should try to do some of the planning via the bulletin board....or try an IRC chat.

Hi all,
A friend just told me about this site and she is a member
of the Boston club. I just moved to the area
3 weeks ago from Nashua. Id be interested in helping
plan meetings if you need help. How did the first meeting
go, when is the next meeting? I travel for a living
but know when I can meet...
Cant wait to meet for our first supper club dinner.

Hi Julie!
wow...weekly meetings? with my schedule I was hoping to for something like monthly or even every 6 weeks like my book club. We haven't met yet. We seem to have a problem finding a time when everyone can get together. Anyway, carving pumpkins with the kiddies, but wanted to say hi. I agree with Jim that we should get together someplace for chat, instead of taking additional time ona weekend. I believe on my aol page I can set up a chat. What do you all think? We could do wednesday sometime in the evening (preferably after the kids are in bed).

Hi all!
Just want you to know that I cannot do an on-line chat. I teach in Goffstown and my only internet access is at my school during my free period and before or after school hours. Thus, evenings and weekends are out for a chat for me. I really, really want to be part of the planning and hope we can find a date that I can attend a meeting. I know it's last minute, but I'm free this Saturday and Sunday, and then again November 18 and December 1&2. I'm also available most Friday evenings if anyone else wants to try that. Let me know what you all think.
Thanks.

Hi, kind of lost here. Is anything happening with the Portsmouth club? I'd like to participate but I seem to have problems finding my way around. Perhaps if someone, more computer savvy than me, send me an e-mail. thanks. carlajrollins@aol.com
