Hi,On one of the back issue there was recipes for Onion Rings.Does anybody have it.I moved and can't find it now,,,I would truly appreciate it..
Hi....are you refering to the issue with the onion rings on the cover?? It was March 2000 and the recipe was "Beer-Battered Onion Rings".......
2 large onions, peeled (about 1.5 lbs.)
2/3 cup flour
1/2 teas salt
1/4 teas paprika
1/4 teas freshly ground pepper
1/3 cup flat beer
1 large egg white, lightly beaten
1 1/2 tblsp veg. oil divided
cooking spray
1. Preheat oven to 400'
2. Cut the onion crosswise into 3/4 inch-thick slices and seperate into rings...use 16 of the largest rings and reserve the remaining for another use. Lightly spoon flour, salt, paprika, and pepper in a med. bowl. Stir in beer and egg white. (Will be thick). Heat 1 1/2 teas. oil in lrg. skillet over med. high heat. Dip 5 onion rings in batter, let excess drip off. Add onion rings to pan, cooking for 2 min. on ea. side. Place on a cooking sheet and repeat procedure until done. Coat the rings w/ cooking spray. Bake at 400' for 10 min. or until crisp.
Yield: 4 servings
I made these and found them quite good...although it didn't really make enough, I doubled the batter recipe and used all the onion rings instead of putting the smaller ones aside. I dont know anyone who can just eat 4 onion rings!Hope this is the right one and enjoy!
