View Full Version : Okra
While the board was down, I tried a recipe for WW Gumbo (which was excellent). It called for 'trimmed, sliced okra'. I've never worked with okra before. I'm sure I did the slicing correctly, but wasn't sure what 'trimmed' meant. Can any okra users shed some light? Thanks!

Trimmed okra basically means cutting off the tip and the stem of the "okra pods" &/or trimming any blemishes. When I make fried okra, I trim the pod and slice it into circles, bread it and fry. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Zinnia
