Melanie's Garden Tomato Soup?

I have tons of ripe tomatoes from my mom's garden and would like to try to make tomato soup with them. I've read the posts regarding the tomato basil soup in a recent CL issue but I would prefer a non-creamy based soup. I found a non-creamy CL recipe from 1999 called Melanie's Garden Tomato Soup, has anyone tried this one? Thanks for your help!

I do believe this was a recipe I made last summer. As I recall it was very good. I did not make it this season since I made the tomato basil soup from this summer's issue. I hope it turns out well for you.
