Hi Sharon, can you please post the recipe you used for this? I will be planning a bridal shower for my friend--it will probably be in April or early May (wedding is end of June). Anyway, that sounds like a great sort of punch to have.
I don't want the focus to be on drinking, but I'd like to have something light and "pretty" to drink to loosen up some of the relatives! I've heard some are none too friendly.
thanks so much!

I'm not Sharon, but the recipe that neeter posted looks good. If I was serving it at a shower, I might get a pretty punch bowl and add sliced fruit to it (strawberries, kiwi fruit, etc). I have a recipe for White Sangria too, let me know if you'd like me to post it if you'd like an idea of the kind of fruit to add.

Here was the winner out of the four I test drove. Everyone in the group liked this one!
Citrus Sangria
25 ounces white wine
4 ounces fresh orange juice
2 TBLS fresh lime juice
2 TBLS fresh lemon juice
2 TBLS brandy
2 TBLS triple Sec or Cointreau (we used Grand Marnier since had it on hand)
2 ounces fruit juice concentrate (we used a can of the kind you get in the juice aisle, this will be the color of your drink so choose accordingly, we used mountain berry I think)
Mix all the ingredients in container. We let it sit overnight and chill. We also threw in thinly sliced lemons and limes. We froze grapes, lemon and lime slices and used them to ice the punch as it sat in the bowl.
We quintupled (five batches) so we would have enough and still didn't have a drop left. We picked up a cheap (read 5 bucks a bottle) chardonney at TJs. But test drove it with a sauvignon blanc which was also yummy.

Opps! I forgot and DH reminded me. We added a little bit of gingerale to give it some fizz. Not that much, but we just added it until we thought it tasted a little more carbonated. You could also use just club soda if you didn't want the gingerale taste.

Just wanted to comment on how yummy the sangria is that Sharon served at her wedding. She test-drove several recipes at a Fourth of July sangria party, and this was the only one I would touch. I'm very picky about alcoholic drinks - if it tastes like alcohol, I won't touch it. This was delicious! Of all the sangrias, this was the only one that got thumbs-up from everyone (although I'll admit that one of the other recipes also got very high votes - I was the lone dissenter).

I just want to say that last night I had a Southwestern themed dinner that I made the Citrus Sangria with. It was a hit. The girl that I made dinner with was not excited about sangria b/c she said any that she had ever had was awful, but even she had more than one glass.
So thanks!

Leanne,
Sharon's not around much on the BB these days, but I'll see her this weekend and will pass along your thanks! I'm not a drinker - most alcohol tastes awful to me - but this recipe was a winner with me too. I'm glad you liked it!
