I love this BB very much- it is a special part of each day for me. I haave also enjoyed the Other Stuff catetory very much. I think many of you will agree that it has gotten pretty heavy lately. I have played a part in this. The problem is conveying views on some topics is very difficult in writing and causes misinterpretations etc. Topics such as SUVs, children sleeping with their parents, the Sept.11 attacks require tact, insightful questions etc. and without personal interaction can lead to misunderstandings. I am pretty shook up right now, and will stick to "light" topics from now on. I am in no way angry just realize this is not the forum for some topics. I like and respect everyone here and I want to continue to discuss food, health and fun stuff. Anyone else agree with me?

I agree with you in theory, but the problem is that the nature of a topic is in the eye of the beholder.

Not to beat a dead horse here, but I certainly wasn't looking to stir things up (other than discussion) when I posted my SUV question. And I'll guess the author of the children sleeping with parents thread didn't mean to stir negative feelings up either?
(I don't know, haven't read it yet -- will now)

My point is that, no matter how innocent a topic or question
may be in *your* mind, it will always offend some people.

I agree with you Kima. I'm sorry if any of my remarks on the two topics offended anyone. I have gone back to them recently and have been able to hold my tongue or keyboard (although its been hard LOL).

BUT, I think that any type of profanity does not need to be included in a post. If you find the need to get your point across with profanity at least have the courtesy to put in symbols instead of letters. I used to be really bad about this, but since having a child I have really cleaned up my act. Especially now that she parrots everything that we say. I may resort to it now and then, but always put in a symbol or two - people will still understand.
