Hello all!

I need some ideas for 50's themed costumes this year. DH and I usually like to go as a matching pair, but I guess we don't have to. I'm sure there will be plenty of Lucies and Rickies, as well as poodle skirts and letter sweaters. I was hoping for something a little different.

Also, I'll be almost 5 months pregnant, so, while I'm not showing too much yet, I won't be my usual slim self.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

What about going as beatniks? Rick Ocasek (sp?) and Pia Zadora do a great turn as beatniks in John Waters' film "Hairspray," if you need a template.

Here's three ideas and check out this website http://www.fiftiesweb.com/pop/1950.htm

Gunsmoke was a big hit, go as Marshall Dillion and Kitty.
Disney's Cinderella debuted in 1950, here's your chance for a princess outfit! ;)
Or, Peanuts comic strip debuted in 1950. You could go as Charlie Brown and Lucy (Snoopy depending on your mindset)!

Good Luck and let us know what you decide!

Ok, well obviously I didn't finish reading your thread before I responded! How about pregnant Jackie Kennedy and Jack Kennedy.

Fonzie and Pinkie Tuskadero (sp?)? Not great, but a twist.
