I used a tiny bit of miso for a recipe yesterday. Now I have a huge amount left. Does anyone have good recipes using miso? (I hate to waste it since it was so expensive--$6)
Please tell us what kind of miso it is. That'll help.

Not sure of what kind you have either but, here is a quick recipe using white miso. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Zinnia
Miso Soup w/ Egg
4 c. reg. strength chicken or beef broth or Dashi (broth)
1/4 c. white miso
1/4 t. salt
1 egg, beaten
2 t. sherry or sweet rice wine
Twists of orange or lemon peel & slices of green onion tops for garnish.
Bring broth or Dashi, mixed with miso & salt to a boil. While swirling the soup in the pan, gradually trickle in the beaten egg. Remove from heat. Add sherry/wine if you want. Place a twist of orange or lemon peel in each bowl before adding soup. Top w/ green onion slices. Serves 4 to 6.
