Did everyone see the Best of Cooking Light Magazine (w. Lasagne on the front cover, I believe)? It was in magazine form, not hardcover.

Did it come with the September issue? If not how does one get it? I am dying to get the wonderful recipes inside!

I picked up The Best of Cooking Light a few months ago - this one has filet mignon on the cover, and was $9.95, in magazine form (I must say that I was expecting magazine price!). Is there a new one?

I have the same Best of Cooking Light that jd posted above and its well worth the 10 dollars. If CL has another one on the stands, I would certainly love to know about it because I will rush to the stores and find one! I've never seen any of these special-edition CL magazines locally -- and I'm always browsing magazine displays. Come to think of it, I've never seen them advertised in the regular CLs, either, or on this site. How does one go about getting them? And what are they? Reprints of previous issues? New recipes? Or what?

Bad News: Unfortunately for those of you who missed it, the Best of Cooking Light special edition was a "newsstand only" publication and is no longer available.

Good News: The Best of Cooking Light II is due out February 2001. It will also be a newsstand publication and should be available nationwide. It will be advertised in several issues between now and then.

The "Best of.." series are a collection of our favorite recipes as judged by our Test Kitchens staff, food editors and in our own kitchens. I hope you will keep an eye out for it!

I think this sounds like the free gift I just got with my re-order of my subsription. It was pretty good, nothing totally jumped off the page at me though. I did see recipes that I had seen on the back page of the magazine in recent issues.

I have the edition with the lasagna on the front. I'm pretty sure its older than the one with the filet mignon. It may be the same one - not sure, but I've had that one for quite some time.

The magazine with the lasagne on the cover is "The Best of Cooking Light Classics" and was offered free with a renewal subscription a few months ago. I would think it's still available. Check the store on this website - perhaps it's for sale there.

I recieved the best of CL with the lasagne on the cover with my subscription renewal, too. I think it's a 98 publication, actually, judging by the ads on the inside, but there were a few good recipes in it that I'd like to try. I've never seen them in the stores, though.
