No - I don't have a shoplifting problem. I made the ooey gooey brownies and I got so frustrated when I tried to spread the first layer (same thing when I make Rice Krispy squares). I put flour on my hands, but apparently not enough. My mom suggested using cocoa (blends in with the brownies).
Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to work with these sticky batters?

Spray your hands with a little cooking spray, rub just your fingertips together lightly, and then press. Nothing will stick. Also, if a little of the dough sticks to just one spot on your hands, where ever you press thereafter, more dough will stick to that spot, so rinse any stuck dough off your hands right away, and spray some more cooking spray on your hands and start again. It works like a charm every time.
Hope this helps.

You might also try wetting your hands if the extra moisture won't affect the end product.

Cooking spray works great for me, too. I used to get so frustrated with rice krispie cakes before I discovered the cooking spray technique. Now I load up my hands with spray and have no sticky situations whatsoever, er, at least not in my cooking pursuits.

I use cooking spray also. I hate to cook with it, but it works great when dealing with sticky things. I have sprayed utensils, too, to keep sticky things from sticking. I loved the brownies, but thought we all needed some "wet-naps" after eating one!

Does anyone happen to have the recipe for the ooey-gooey brownies? I'm making them tonight at a supper club and need to run to the store for the ingredients... Unfortunately, I don't have the magazine with me at work! Thanks so much...
