I have a recipe that calls for sugared walnuts. Does anyone know how to make them? I am using this recipe for this Saturday, so please help me if you can. Thanks.

i think this is what they're talking about:
combine sugar and walnuts in a pan over medium heat and stir until the sugar melts and walnuts start to brown (be patient, it sometimes takes a little while). and be careful, once the walnuts start to brown, they continue to do so pretty rapidly.
enjoy!
I've never made sugared walnuts, but I use sugared pecans in one CL recipe (Field green salad with citrus vinegarette). It calls for spraying the frying pan with cooking spray, heating the pan over a low flame, adding 1/4 cup pecans (or walnuts). When lightly toasted, turn off flame, add two teaspoons sugar and stir to mix. Place nuts on wax paper to cool. (For the pecans recipe they also add 1/8 teaspoon on crushed chili peppers.)
Greta is correct. You do have to be careful not to burn the nuts. Once they start to toast, they do so quickly. Good luck.

I have this recipe for sugared pecans but I'm sure you could substitute walnuts:
1 2/ cups sugar
1/2 cup water
3/4 tsp each of ground cinnamon and nutmeg
1/8 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
Mix sugar, water, spices and salt in saucepan. Bring to boil and cook without stirring until 236F registers on candy thermometer, or until a small amount of mixture dropped into cold water forms a soft ball. Remove from heat and add pecans. Mix until a solid mass is formed. Separate individual nut halves while still hot. Let stand until cold. ( I usually rest them on wased paper.
