I make a very wide variety of Christmas cookies that I have historically kept in tins for the time between baking and distributing. But this year my schedule is such that I'll be making them much farther in advance than I have in the past, so I'm thinking I'll need to freeze many of them to ensure freshness. That said, none of the old threads talked about any particular varieties that were not well-suited to freezing.

Have any of you found any kinds of cookies that did not freeze well?

My mom always makes about 10 different kinds of Xmas cookies starting weeks before the holidays and then freezes them all so she can then bring out some of each for an assorted platter. Everything seems to freeze just fine - from frosted sugar cookies to thumbprints with jam, krumkake, those little powdered sugared ball things, brownies, peanut blossoms, etc. She makes so many varieties and they all seem to do great - in tupperware between layers of waxed paper.

I always freeze my christmas cookies. I start baking right after Thanksgiving and make a lot of different types. I can't really think of anything that hasn't frozen well. If I do cut out cookies (sugar type), I never decorate until I'm going to use them.
