Do any of you have one of these? Are they a combo of both a microwave & convection oven and how do they work? I am thinking of getting one of these but I'm not sure if it would be better than just a regular microwave.

I have one that must be 12 yrs old or so. It cooks as a regular microwave, regular convection or a comination of the two. I've been very glad to have it over the years. I could not live without it in my current 2-burner/1 oven kitchen, but it may not survive the redo. I would compare some of the new radiant ovens that are coming out. I don't know much about them yet.

Yes, I have the GE over the stove model. Love it. Use is all the time for both microwaving and convection (plus it does a combo of both if needed). I don't have room for a second oven, so this is a real help when I need to bake something at a different temperature.
Chefbec, I have the same set-up as you and also use it very, very often. Before I redid my kitchen 7 years ago, I had a Sharp microwave/convection. That was also great, but I prefer the GE b/c it doesn't have the carousel and therefore fits larger dishes.
