View Full Version : "SuperFast"
Just wanted to alert you all that I found the CL SuperFast issue today in my local bookstore. Looks like a real winner! I think I have the next month's menu's planned already. Enjoy.

Also got it today and read it from
cover to cover. I picked out many
"must try". There was one chicken
with chilpotle sauce and a couple
of flank steak recipes that were
particularly interesting.
Can you tell me, are these new recipes or a collection from past issues? Look forward to seeing it up here soon!:)

Kima, I'm not sure about all of them, but I recognized a few recipes from past issues, such as the Quick Taco Salad, Rapid Rattatouile and Pork, Cashew and Green Bean Stir Fry (all good recipes by the way).
I agree with Cindy and Coop that this is a great issue with lots of must try recipies. It's organized by category like a cookbook, and has several menu suggestions.

I picked it up today at Barnes & Noble on the way to Home Depot. Told DH we had to stop at B & N first! :D Its a rainy day today so I will curl up on the couch with magazine in hand while DH watches the Patroit's game. :)

I picked this up yesterday at the grocery store! Like, I really needed another CL publication.
Anway, I made the Sirloin Steak with Chipotle gravy, I used real sirloin steaks instead of the ground beef variety.
I would not recommend this recipe for the gravy. It just didn't taste very great. There are definitely more interesting recipes for a steak "sauce" and this just didn't have it, IMO.
But, the steaks tasted good along with the roasted corn and chili mashed potatoes(not in the book- my concoction)
Yum.

Today, I just made the Sizzling Garlic Mushrooms and the Green Beans and Red Peppers with Feta.
Both are very good.

I just breezed through the magazine and I have to say there are many recipes that I will be trying because they are quick and tasty looking that I know my family will enjoy. I noticed a few that are from back issues, but most of them don't look familiar to me. :)

I looked through it again to see if there
were repeats. I thought that most if not
all of the CL magazines were repeats but
only a few of the recipes seemed like
something I had read before. I made
the Barbequed Flank Steak with Chutney
Mango Glaze and it was very good.
By the way, Mamasue, did you get the
mag at Barnes & Noble on Route 1?

I bought this yesterday and did recognize some of the recipes from past issues but decided to buy it anyway because lots of the recipes look great and it is very well organized. I hesitated at first because of the older recipes in it but decided what the heck because of the easy meals in it. Being single, I found many of these recipes to be good for leftovers for lunch too.
