Hmmm. I'm in charge of refreshments for an open house party I'm helping to host this week and I know I am going to make a batch of my favorite pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting... What else should I bring? I think I need one other option and I was going to go with another dessert, though I'm open to all suggestions.

I've thought of dipping pretzel sticks in white chocolate and sprinkling orange and black jimmies on.

I've thought of Texas sheet cake.

After that I'm drawing a blank... I usually like to make lemon cream cheese bars, but it doesn't seem to "go" with the pumpkin bars.

I made the monkey bars from the Oct issue and they were good. Pretty easy, too.

Around this time of year I like to make Oatmeal cookies, but I omit the cinnamon called for and substitute either some pumpkin pie spice or apple pie spice. Then I add raisins, dried cranberries and some toasted pecans. They taste great and they have that "fall" feel to them. Maybe these would work for you as well. Good luck and happy cooking!

What about mini muffins -- apple spice or something like that? They might go well with your pumpkin bars.

how about pecan tassies? They're nice for fall also.

May I suggest that you bake my "Harvest Ginger Snaps" They are SO delicious! Every time I bake them, the recipe is requested. I actually posted the recipe recently. You'll love them! Happy Baking!!!

One of my favorite fall snacks is Toffee Dip with Apples. Yummy. It should be easy to find the recipe if you do a search.

I like your idea for Texas Sheet Cake. I think the CL recipe is outstanding and most people like something chocolate! Plus, you have orange, and the TX Cake would give you something "black."
