I know that this a silly question, but when you make pizza dough in food processor do you use the metal blade or the plastic. thank you. ps has anyone tried the cider scallopped potatoes and the cider pork roast. Featured a couple of years ago. i was thinking of making something "fallsey" even though i live in miami.

Hi Matt,
I always make my pizza dough in my food processor - doesn't it make it EASY!? And I use the plastic blade. I read somewhere it's the one to use for dough. Can't help on the other question!

Hi, Matt -

I use my food processor for making pizza and bread dough. I use the metal blade, because mine didn't come with a plastic one (as far as I know). It always turns out well.

I add all the dry ingredients, pulse to mix, then add the water s-l-o-w-l-y until the mixture forms a ball and then "knead" it by machine for 60 seconds. (Just let it keep spinning around for that 60 seconds). A lot of the times I don't even need to use all the liquid. I just make sure the dough is smooth and soft (not sticky). You'll get used to what the feel should be if you keep making it yourself.

Good luck!

I use the metal blade on my Cuisinart. According to the instruction manual, it recommends using the metal blade for smaller amounts & the plastic for larger amounts of flour (unfortunately, I can't remember the exact cut-off amount [maybe 2-3 cups flour]). I just followed the "recipe" in the manual for pizza dough!
