I've now been to my first SUPPER CLUB! It was so much fun!! Thank you to the 3 other gals who helped make it great:)
All of our husbands come even though none of them have an interest in cooking. And a couple are picky eaters - and brave to be there. But they all had a good time too.
We followed one of the pre-made menus in the Sept issue.
Food prep took about an hour and a half including eating our appetisers. We dished some of everything onto each plate and talked about the food over dinner. Not everybody loved everything but all was appreciated and compliments seemed all around.
I can't wait for the next one!

Katie,

Glad to hear your first super club meeting went well. Which of the pre-made menus did you use? Do your husbands help you cook? Ours show up just for the eating phase! I know you will enjoy your group immensely!

The menu was from Sept. issue, "On the Edge" Chicken Tagine, Basalmic Asparigus, Onion Pancakes, Bread Pudding, .... All very tasty and different. Nothing I would've chosen on my own probably. That was the best part.
No, husbands didn't do a thing. But a couple offered to chop if we needed them. They hung out and talked shop, sports, real-estate, blah, blah, blah while us 4 ladies did the remaining work. We had a couple of dishes already made, so it didn't seem like we were doing a lot. The husbands did help talk about the food flavors, textures, etc. And also about the next menu. Which it looks like will be another Sept. pre-made menu again :)
