I am at my parents' house this weekend, and my mom just got her Novermber CL in the mail. I know that some of you like to know what the articles are about in advance (Grace!), so here is a quick peek:
article on fennel
article on oysters
lots of thanksgiving-type recipes, including a vegetarian menu
a yummy section on miniature desserts
back to the best is Cheddar Chicken Chowder
Cooking Class is India
section on turkey, for leftover ideas
That's all I can think of right now. I don't have the mag in front of me. It looks like a pretty good issue (despite the fact that I hate both fennel and oysters).
I hope it isn't too long before mine shows up!

As usual, it looks awesome!! THANK YOU Laura!!! How sweet of you to think of me, and take the time to let me know what I've got to look forward to! Mine didn't come yet, and I wasn't home when the mailman came today, so I didn't have a chance to run out and bug him about it, so maybe I'll get it tomorrow, but I really like fennel (especially roasted - it gets sweet and carmelized like onions do - yum!), and as I mentioned in my previous post, I'm especially looking forward to the good Thanksgiving ideas! And miniature desserts?!! Perfect for a cookie exchange, or a xmas party, eh? Thanks again! And anyone with reviews from Nov. already, bring 'em on!!

I got my issue yesterday (10/18). The Classic Turkey looks great. The editor raves about it. The miniature desserts look fantastic. I need an excuse to make them! Maybe a cookie exchange like you said, Grace.
Anyway, here's hoping you all get yours today!

Oh no! I'm not excited about any of those options. But I would like to know what all the fuss about fennel is about... Thanks for the preview.

I knew a thread like this would show up today! I only got my Oct. issue on the 14th of Oct. and now I start hearing about November! Man oh man. Mine better show up soon.....
Well, I can't be too snarky....the post office has enough to worry about. Somehow I shall muddle through.

Grace, I did not notice until just now that you had already posted about the november issue!

I had scanned the thread names, but your post was worded differently from the usual "November Issue Spotted!" titles, so I did not notice it. I feel kind of silly now. :o Oh, well. Can't worry about it for more than two seconds. :D Sorry about the redundant post, folks.

I'm racking my brain, but I cannot remember what is on the cover. I have not gotten my own copy yet.

The subtitle is : turkey & trimmings
The picture is plate of turkey, stuffing, green beans, sweet potato (mashed) and cranberry sauce. It's Thanksgiving dinner.

AMAZING!! Here's a trivia question that I honestly don't know the answer to. When, if ever, was the last time that a November (or Nov./Dec.) CL issue did *not* feature a dessert (including pastries) on the cover?
N/D '92 Pumpkin Cheesecake
N/D '93 Pound cake, wasn't it?
N/D '94 Hawaiian Bubble Bread?
N/D '95 Italian Cream Cake
N/D '96 Some Brownies
N/D '97 Chocolate Soufflé Cake
Nov. '98 Black-Bottom Banana Cream Pie?
Nov. '99 Pecan Pie
Nov. '00 Pecan Tassies
I'm just going from memory here, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Were there any pre-'92 Nov./Dec. issues that didn't have desserts on the cover? If not, then this issue is history in the making!! :)
