Interested in joining/starting club in Poughkeepsie, NY area

I am interested in either joining a Supper Club already established in this area or working with others to start one. I live in the area of Poughkeepsie, NY in the Hudson Valley. Yeah! I posted a WHILE back about a club in the HV but received no respose. I am definitely interested! I'm in Orange County- about 45 minutes from Pok. I'm a fifth grade teacher so weeknights would be tough, though not impossible. My sister-in-law likes to cook, and while I don't think she gets CL she might be interested in something like this. I'll also check around at school to see if there's any interest- the more the merrier! Hope this gets off the ground.

I'm from the Albany area. I just joined the Cooking light "community" and would love to get involved in a supper club for the Hudson Valley area. My Mom lives in Southern Columbia County, so I frequent that general area quite a bit. Keep me posted! I'm pretty new to this...

Sounds good! I'm still rounding up some additional people at school. I agree on holding off to see if there is more interest- maybe until after Thanksgiving?? I'm hosting my first one. Right now I am so unbelievably busy with school (field trip next week, state test in 3 weeks, parent conferences!), planning dinner and organizing my new house... but I think I might need this sort of thing to take me away if only for an evening!

I would definitely like to participate! I live in Orange County too. But I actually work in Poughkeepsie. I move to NY about a year & half ago so I'm still new to the area. I think this would be a great way to get to meet new people and cook!

How Exciting!

Waiting a little longer sounds like a great idea. I too am very busy. I do take weekend courses, but they are usually over by 5:00 at the latest (no Sunday classes). The holidays are coming up so I'm sure it's going to get a bit hectic for all of us. So, no pressure on when we get together. It will be so nice, though, to get to meet new and different people!

I currently belong to a great supper club in the CT area but am moving to Hopewell Jct in April and know that it will be over an hour to meet upi with my group.
