I saw a banana pound cake that looked really good on this board. I'm having trouble finding the banana liqueur. Does anyone have advice? All I can find is banana schnapps or banana rum.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I found at our liquor store Boulaine banana liqueur. I had to ask where to find it. It was near cassis, peach snapps etc. Actually I was going to get a small bottle when I saw the one I got. Its not expensive and ask the manager. Also you can use it for banana daiquiris.
Please note that banana rum or schnapps is not the same. You need the liqueur which its made from ripe bananas into a cordial (the bottle says using French method)

The brand I found to make the double banana pound cake(I assume this is the cake you are referring to which by the way is delicious) is Hiram Walker. It is located by all of the other various flavored liqueurs in the liquour store. If you can't find it, I'm sure an employee in the store would help because it is really not an uncommon product.

I used Hiram Walker too. I found a little bottle at the grocery store and half of it was just the right amount. The cake is delicious!!

I've used Bols "creme de bananes" with excellent results.

Does anyone know if it's acceptable to replace the "banana liqueur" with "banana extract" in the "Double Banana Pound Cake" recipe? If so, how much extract would I need in place of the 1/2 cup banana liqueur required by the recipe?
