We are supposed to get some snow on Friday. Today we had severe thunderstorm warnings with talk of a tornado. I was outside doing bus duty today and my umbrella turned inside out! The weather was wild this afternoon. We are to expect high winds, rain and snow for the rest of the week. Thursday and Friday is our fall break and it isn't looking too good. Vicky

Vicky,

What can I say? The weather here in Texas...sucks! It's been
85º or more for the past two weeks... way above normal even for us! Can't wait for those temps that stay in the low 40ºs and then don't creep up past 70º

What a Shame that I can't change your icon to a thumbs up!
What we in Texas wouldn't give for a bit of that white....

Vbak- See my response on the "We have Snow" thread. I'm in NE Indiana and we had the same.

You have to picture this: I'm getting read for the Halloween party I'm hosting tonight. I'm going to dress as Madonna (the Desparately Seeking Susan, early days). I have dark eyeliner on, dark red lipstick, big rhinstone hoop earrings, and nicest of all, cloth curlers in my hair. Then the tornado siren rings in town. We have no basement. We run across the street to the neighbors for shelter. How embarassing! But, ya know, I really didn't care! :)

And Sneezles - you don't really want that white stuff down there do ya? Come up here to experience it! When you get it down there, no one knows how to drive and a little flurry can cripple a town for days! ;) We never had snow while I lived in TX, but we did have a couple of ice storms - scary!

lindrusso, I immediately thought of you when I saw all that crazy weather on tv! We don't normally get tornadoes here in NJ. I can imagine that experience was quite unnerving!

I saw on the news two nights ago that the hot spot in the country (Tuesday, I think) was Laughlin AFB in Texas, which is right outside where DH's parents live. 97 degrees. Yikes!! I hate Oregon winters, and winter is coming much too fast for my taste this year, but give me a break. It's nearly November, for crying out loud. 97!!! You poor souls.

It's snowing with gusts of 50 mph here in Wisconsin. Normally, I welcome the first snow, but last winter did me in. I'm not ready for five months of bracing myself against cold weather. Brrrrrrr....

Jen, there were little white yhings flying around here today. The winds are very strong and seem to have picked up again this evening. However, the temp has risen 2 degrees since I have been on the BB. We are going to So. Indiana [Brown Co.] tomorow for the weekend, and we can expect more of the same weather. Last winter was enough for the next ten years. When we went to Fl. for spring break this past year[end of March] I had lightweight clothes and sandals on. The windchill was 4 degrees!!! An hour and a half later it was a wonderful 70 degrees in Fl.! Vicky

Vicky,

It's still windy here. I crawled under a warm wool blanket last night, and didn't emerge until this morning. The winds whipped and screamed around the building last night. Sometimes, we would just turn the TV down and listen.
