Tonight's pizza night, and I was all excited to make the Leek, Ricotta, and Walnut pizza from a couple of issues back. I put the leeks on the stove to caramelize, and I popped back here for a minute to use the computer (of course, I was reading this BB...) and the leeks burned to a crisp!

So now I'm having plain old Onion, Ricotta, and Walnut. Oh well. but really, do leeks tase dramatically different from onions? I guess I'll just have to wait for next pizza night...

But it smells delicious! I doubled the cheese mixture and also added some bacon...so much for light cooking!

:)

:( I'm sorry! truth be told, I once singed to black some turnip greens I was supposed to be sauteeing, but instead was back here reading the board!

I think leeks have a very unique taste- not at all like a traditional onion- and carmelized they are oh-so-yummy. So, I guess you will just HAVE to make this pizza again. What a pity :D

Enjoy- it will still be wonderful!

A bit OT but I once destroyed a kettle by boiling it completely dry and then roasting it after it was dry because I was reading the BB. Haven't replaced it yet, but I think I need to get one with a whistle.

Sigh...I consoled myself by eating three large pieces of my substituted pizza...;)

I think I went overboard with the cheese mixture. It was VERY cheesey because I doubled it! Very tasty, but I think next time I'll stick closer to the recipe.

The onions were a fabulous stand-in. I'll have to try the real thing another night!
