I really tried but I can't do it. I tried to get through it but all I could taste was goat. (Shutter...!)
We bought it at Trader Joes and it was the Vermont Goat Cheese. Can anyone with experience suggest another brand or options? TIA

It's an acquired taste. Keep trying it in different recipes. I have had several friends that grew to like it. And although DH is a BIG Taste kind of guy he can't stomach it.

Try "drunken goat cheese"...we tried it on recommendations from this board and now my "cheddar only" husband loves it!...
from the label:
"semi-soft goat cheese immersed in red wine"...it's from Spain and I must say, it goes well with red or white wine...it's great!!!

If you can find somewhere that sells freshly made goat cheese you will be amazed. This summer my db got some at a farmer's market in Des Moines, Ia and I fell in love with it. Very mild, smooth, and I didn't notice any "goat" flavor at all.

Thanks for the replies! We have some left yet so I just may try the drunken goat cheese.
I will look for it fresh. I have one spot at the North Market that has a huge variety, I bet they can help.

OK, I've never had goat cheese, so what do y'all mean it tastes like "goat"?! What does goat taste like?!

I had a description typed in and removed it. It was right to the point but I am hoping some else might give it a try.
I love lamb, BTW. It was much stronger taste than that.

I like it in everything.
I mix it in my hard boiled eggs in the morning. I make Quesadilla's with Goat Cheese and roasted red peppers. Last night I mixed it in with some pasta. If you can find it herbed it is also great that way.
YUM!!
