View Full Version : Guess where we are having Thanksgiving Dinner?!

Turn to page 198 of this month's CL! See the little picture of the Shoalwater Restaurant? Picture DH, MIL, FIL and me there on T-DAY! I was tickled when I saw this article, as FIL/MIL have a time-share at Ocean Shores and we've spent Christmas holidays with them and eaten at the Shoalwater, hiked at Leadbetter Point, clammed at Willapa Bay. There's nothing like an ocean beach in winter- wild, deserted, wrapped up in wool sweaters, tromping through tide pools in our Sorrels... Anyway, a change in our Thanksgiving plans was confirmed yesterday and MIL said she'd rather enjoy our company than spend time in the kitchen, so the Shoalwater it is!

YAY! Wild mushroom and oyster stuffing, here I come :)

OOH- that sounds delightful Julie!! I am envious- guess I will just have to walk the lonely beaches of Victoria. Nothing better than a storm, a beach and a restaurant (oh yes and a cozy little inn to retire to). Makes me want to head out to Long Beach and the Wickannish Inn. You deserve it!!

Oh my :o What does this mean? What DID I do before the BB? I can't seem to remember what other important things took up my time before discovering you all :)

We are stuck in town "on call", so DH, DD and I have decided to go serve Thanksgiving Dinner to the homeless at a local shelter. It will be a very different Thanksgiving for us (all of our family live far away) but I have always wanted to do this, so we will give it a go. I am so fortunate, I feel the need to give back in some way...
