Mamasue and others who have had luck adding graphics to your posts. Is it just me? I followed your (very easy to follow) instructions and tried to add a graphic to my e-mail and all I got was the typed url. I never got the graphic. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? I made sure that I followed your instructions to the letter. I e-mail through AOL and I am on a PC (not a mac) and use Explorer. Do you think any of those could be the problem? I am not the most computer literate person in the world but I am also not a total novice. Any help would be appreciated. I know this isn't food related but we are all friends here and I can't think of a more helpful group of people to ask advice of. Appreciate your time.

SandyDee:

I'm glad that it's not just me!!! LOL. I tried adding graphics to some emails to my husband and got the same thing you did. I sure hope someone can help figure it out.

Hi,

You can definitely insert graphics in E-mails, but when I do this, I don t use the instructions that apply for inserting them in these posts. (I had the same result as you did when I tried that.)

I think my ISP is kind of bizarre, but what works for me is getting to the image itself (not the URL), and then dragging the mouse to the reload/refresh symbol on the screen. Then the image shows up centered on the screen and you can play around with it (change size, colors etc.) and insert it in an E-mail. I wouldn t be surprised if different ISPs had various ways of doing it, though.
Hope this helps.

While I haven't tried posting the graphics to these replies, I was able to use the websites mail icon on the task bar and sent one to my husband and a birthday card to my son. I'm not on AOL, use a PC and Explorer. Both of them were highly impressed that I knew something they didn't-thanks for the website!

Phantomcg glad to know it isn't just me. Natasha I was hoping you would see this post. I figured you would be able to help. Sneezles I am going to attempt your advice as well. So one of these days you will see a post of mine and an url to go with it. (Only kidding, hopefully there will be a graphic to go with it) Thanks guys for your posts. I will try this soon.

Hi SandyDee,

I have been away for a few days and just catching up. I have learned applying images and other neat stuff by asking questions and surfing the net. The instructions that I gave you are to help you apply images to BB like this one who enables you to use HTML or UBB codes (can't explain what it all means but if you go to FAQ here it will explain it in detail). When a BB provides this it makes it easier to apply images (graphics or gifs), whereas, all you have to do is type in the beginning of url address and at the end. Some sites do not offer these codes and you have to use another code in front of url address of image. It may look like this <img src="url address">. Try this code in your e-mail and see what happens. Applying images/graphics in your e-mail is totally different. I have Outlook Express e-mail and its basically easy by just inserting the graphic. I don't know how to do this using AOL. I think you may have to apply images by making attachments. I wish that I could help you, but I will look around the net and see what I can find for instructions in applying to e-mail. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif

Mamasue, Thanks for your help. Do you add the [] brackets? Maybe I didn't do that. You're a sweetheart for checking on it for me. Thanks again! My first graphic that I get to take will be in a post to everyone that tried to help me here. Like I said the people on this board are the best. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

SandyDee,

Yep, at this board or any board that offers HTML or UBB code, you would apply like this:
url address from graphic. Remember there should be no spaces between and don't forget to put slash in the brackets at the end.

Will be waiting for your graphic posted here. Good Luck!
