Grace, just today someone mentioned to me that there is a new product on the market that "takes" the wrinkles out of clothing.
Supposedly you spray it on your clothes, smooth with a hand and viola', most wrinkles are gone.

I personally have never seen or heard of this wonder agent. Has anyone else?

Shoyski:

I've seen commercials for this product (can't remember the actual name) and saw it once, in Target, I think. But I've never used it.

Is there a reason why you asked me this question??!! How weird that I actually know of, have and use this product (it's not new)....How could you possibly know that???
(song from the Twilight Zone playing now...)

Anyway, it's called "Wrinkle Free", and it comes in a blue can. I haven't been able to find it in stores for years (used to be able to), but I saw it in a catalog (don't remember which one?) and ordered a super size can (which is now about half empty!).

Anyhow, I am a procrastinator, and am forever running out the door in my attempt at not being late (doesn't usually work). I run to the basement in search of something to wear, and inevitably what I grab is wrinkly - time to turn on the iron, wait for it to heat up, and stand there and press?? You've got to be kidding.... So I throw on the outfit, run back upstairs, spray the wrinkled spots with Wrinkle Free, pull the clothes taut while it dries for a few seconds, and voila! I'm pressed and dressed in no time flat. It smells nice too. Once this can is out, I don't know what I'll do - I'll be on a search for more of this product too, so if anyone knows of a source, I'd love to hear about it too. The can says:

Distributed by Westport Brands, Inc., Canton, MA 02021

So I imagine I could call directory assistance for this company's phone number and ask them where they have distribution, or maybe I can order it directly from them... anyway, it's something I like a lot. Hope that helps you! (And I'm still perplexed as to why you thought I would know the answer to your question??!!)

Brookstone sells it (at least they did a few years ago) They only had the small cans, not the handy supersize.

You had mentioned under the dihwasher thread something about a dishwasher that irons?!?

I think that Proctor and Gamble are marketing a "new" product that claims to take the wrinkles out of fabric. P&G is headquartered here in Cincinnati, so we always see the samples and demos here, and just the other day I saw some one demoing the product and giving out coupons for it. I'm sure we'll see it on the shelves soon.

I think that P&G product is more like a fabric softener - it's something you pour into the washing machine with your clothes that acts as a relaxer on the fabrics and keeps them from wrinkling in the first place -

This other stuff is for spraying on and smoothing with your hands just like Shelly described - it dries quickly and takes out even stubborn wrinkles - I personally love the stuff - it's nice for travelling too when your clothes come out of the suitcase looking so rumpled...

Ok

I remember where I got it now - from Magellan's Travel Supply Catalog - here's the link directly to the product...

Look's like I ought to be getting some more of this stuff myself!!

Grace, Sneelzes is correct. I responded to your plea for an ironing dishwasher. Cool that you already have it.

I do recall from the conversation that I had that the product was being marketed by P&G so Mandy might be correct in that it's a new product not quite yet on the market.

I hate to be the nay-sayer here (okay, I don't hate it that much http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif, but what is this canned wrinkle stuff? What chemical fumes will you be inhaling using it? Won't a spritz bottle of water and a couple good tugs (that I see them doing on the TV ads for this, do the same thing? Also, doesn't hanging and spraying and tugging take about as long as ironing? I am not an ironing lover, I admit, but I would miss that smell!! Takes me back to my childhood, when I would come home from school and Mom would be ironing sheets (can you imagine? Sheets!) and watching her "serials" and the house would be filled with that ironing smell.

Beth, have no fear, it's not a dangerous product - there are no fumes, it's only a gentle fabric relaxant that allows the wrinkles to fall out and stay out. No, a spray bottle of water doesn't work, particularly on a cotton shirt, and I've tried water and then blowing the hairdryer while tugging, and it kind of works, but is FAR more work, and takes forever. The can of fabric relaxant works in about 10 seconds with no "tugging" (a gentle pull and smoothing with your hands does it), and like I said, it smells nice too. But it won't hurt my feelings one bit if you're still not convinced and have no interest in it! All the more for me!!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
