I looked through all the postings about these sun-dried tomatoes, and only Valerie K mentioned anything about chopping them. When I tried to use my mini-food processor to chop them (I had already rehydrated them), they just kind of got all gummed up! I didn't put in a lot; they came out in uneven pieces and one didn't look like it had even had a blade put to it! Does anyone have a method to dice/mince them that works fairly quickly? Thanks for help...Joan

I recently purchased a 5-lb shrink-wrapped bag of sundried tomatoes, not the kind in oil, and not the kind that must be rehydrated. My question: Can these be frozen?

JB I am not sure what else is in your recipe, but besides using a good old chefs knife, I have found that if a recipe calls for chopped onion, I will coursely chop the onion add the re-hydrated sun dried tomatoes, and then finish chopping, the onion kept it from sticking together.

I always chop them with my kitchen shears. Takes a bit of time but gets good results.

I hate chopping those things, but when i do, I just try to stack 3 or 4 of them on top of each other and slice into strips and then turn 1/4 turn and cut the strips into small pieces (does that make sense?)..... I also learned that it makes much less of a mess to chop them BEFORE rehydrating them. Otherwise they are all slimy and hard to chop. Hope this helps you!

I make my own dried tomatoes and I keep them in halves dried in a bag. When I needed them in pieces, I break them up (usually just with my fingers) in to little pieces and then rehydrate them. Much easier then trying to chopp after hydrating.

Easier to chop when dried then you can rehydrate http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

JB Baker-I just purchased a Pampered Chef Food Chopper and I love it. This chopper worked well for me after rehydrating my sun-dried tomatoes...I'm surprised at how much use I've gotten out of this wonderful chopper. I would recommend it to anyone-it's fast, and cleans EASILY. Originally posted by J B Baker:
