OT - Another crash in NY

I just saw on CNN (as of 9:30) a 767 has crashed into Queens. Several houses afire; no other news.

CNN just confirmed that it was an American #587 Airbus 300 headed from JFK to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

This sucks!!!!!!

It looks like it was an accident as there are eye witnesses who say the wing was on fire prior to the crash. I just hope there are not too many fatalities on the ground as they say there are schools and homes in the area (densely populated).

I can't bring myself to turn on the TV. Which is weird, because I was glued to the TV for weeks after the attacks in Sept.

It seems not to be as bad as feared, from a 'war on terrorism' standpoint...

The latest I've heard is that the plane was full, so that's about 200+ people, and there are many buildings and homes ablaze on the ground. Terrorist action or engine failure, this is bad... :(

Fortunately, the schools that were nearby where the plane crashed were closed today for the holiday. A weird coincidence, you might say.
