My daughter's peditrician told me to get her lactose free whole milk. I have been to 3 grocery stores and I can only find 2%. The Dr. told me I wouldn't have any problems finding it (yeh right!) Just wondering if anyone has ever seen it.

Is lactose free the stuff that is labeled "sweet acidopholous" (that is spelled wrong).
Would soy milk be an option for you as it is dairy free?

If you have a Whole Foods market near you, they would probably be the best bet for lactose free whole milk. Another option might be rice milk.
My daughter, who was (is) nursing, finally opted to supplement with Enfamils expensive formula. She tried soy and lactose free and the finally found the Enfamil. I know it costs about $20 for a small can of the powder(vs about $7 for a regular can), but that seemed to work in my granddaughter's system. Good luck.

My kids never drank whole milk - they did not like it for some reason, so they drank 2%. In their case it was okay as they were above percentile. Ask your Dr. if it is okay for them to drink 2%.

Our grocery store carries 1%, 2% and whole lactose free milk--its the Lactaid brand. I've seen it at King Sooper's, so I would guess that City Market and Kroger would also carry it, as their all owned by the same company.
I've also seen it at Albertson's and Safeway, if you have those chains near you.
I hope this helps!

Don't know where you live but Giant, Safeway& I believe Superfresh has LACTAID milk (whole, 2%, 1 %). Sometimes a store will carry their own brand of lactose free milk. If you don't find it you can always make your own by adding LACTAID drops to milk and I believe you have to wait a day to use the milk.

I went to the Lactaid website and saw the whole milk listed, my area must not carry it. That is a good idea to use the drops. I'll have to call the Dr. My daughter is coming off of formula and having a hard time drinking milk.
