For my next meeting of our book discussion club, we have decided to all bring a Christmas story to share with the group. I have several books at home that I can go through, but would love not to have to dig through the Christmas boxes just yet--they're buried in storage.

Do any of you have favorite Christmas stories you could recommend? I'd love to share one that maybe everyone hasn't heard before.

Oh, and the meeting is the 28th of November--next week! We just changed plans, so I've only got a short time to come up with something and I've got to hurry!

He wrote some other than A Christmas Carol. There's one called, I think, 'The Lost Sexton' (?) It's a short story about Gabriel Grubb, a sexton who was kidnapped by nasty goblins the night before Christmas. Grubb learned a lesson about love and tolerance. It's pretty funny.

You could also find the chapters of The Pickwick Papers where they have Christmas at Boskey Dell.

There's also a Christmas story with a WWII twist by Frederick Fosyth, titled The Shepherd, about a young air force officer, flying home for Christmas, who runs low on fuel and is trying to get home. He receives some unexpected assistance. It's a bit of a (very nice) ghost story. Very short, available in paperback, I believe, or through the library. One of my favorites!
