Can mashed turnips be prepared in the same fashion as mashed potatoes, i.e. milk, butter then whip? If not, would someone be willing to share a recipe?

I don't have a recipe but know that my MIL and BIL both love mashed turnips (neeps, in the UK). My MIL fixes them just like mashed potatoes.

Personal Chef, Around here we have always tried to have turnips when we have pork chops or a pork loin. Then we cut a small piece of the pork off to cook the turnips. Cook them, cut up in cubes, slowly so they keep their white color. If cooked too fast they seem to turn yellow. As soon as they are tender, drain the water, salt and pepper, remove the pork and mash just slightly. If they seem a little bitter, you can add a tsp. of sugar. That's the way we serve them. Never have had them with milk added, not to say that isn't delicious! Just haven't had them like that. Maybe you can try them like this sometime. Happy Cooking!!!:) :)
