I recently downloaded the 1997 bundle of Cooking Light recipes and I can open up each issue and see the list of recipes but when i highlight a recipe to view and click ok nothing happens. I'm beginning to think that I've wasted money on this program! Any suggestions-tried contacting dgital river but haven't gotten a response as yet. I don't have any problem with the recipes in the basic program.

I did the same thing!!!! I called the company that makes the program -- it is not compatible with MasterCook (1997 version). Other issues include MC files. I called and returned it for a refund -- had to sign a letter of destruction since it is software. 1997 may be available in MC format early next year.

Sneezles,
Do you have MasterCook or CL CookWare program?
If you have CookWare, there is a way to do it, but if you have MasterCook, then Nanci is right, the cookpacs are not compatible...let me know if you have CookWare and need direction - I can help you with that.

Ok - it's pretty easy. The recipes need to be integrated into your CookWare program before they'll open up. You need to open up the files like you did before, but notice when you click on the individual recipes, they don't open (you did notice that!), but you should see a little asterisk appear next to that recipe after you clicked on it. It means you have "selected" that recipe as one you want to put into your software. What I do when I buy the cookpacs each month is go through my magazine, and any recipe I think I might like, I click on it so the asterisk appears. Then, when I'm done, down at the bottom the options are to "Unselect All", "Select All" or "OK". If you hit "OK", then everything you've highlighted (or asterisked) will be moved into your main CookWare software, and you'll have to go there to find them and open them up. If you want all the recipes to be moved over, then skip the part of going through and clicking on the ones you want, and just hit "Select All" option at the bottom, at which time all the recipes will move over to your CookWare software. I save my Cookpacs to a diskette rather than to my hard drive, just in case a disastrous computer crash happens, then I'll be able to re-load the cookpacs if I need to, although I always back up the .dat file too, but I just like the idea of keeping the separate.
Hope that helps you, and if you need further clarification, just ask!
Enjoy those recipes!

Grace,
Thank you again! It seems so simple yet I didn't have a clue. Are there read me files with this program or is it a learn as you go!
