I did a search to see if anyone else has posted this as a topic so I thought I'd bring it up.

I have notice the Inspired Vegetarian column hasn't appeared the last couple of issues and want to know if this is something that ended up on the chopping block with the magazine's new management??

If so, this might be the end of my Cooking Light days. I just won't get enough use out of the magazine without it, and I LOVE THIS MAGAZINE!!

Please Please PLEASE bring it back!! Even those who aren't vegetarians often are trying to add more meatless meals to their diets. We NEED THIS COLUMN!!!

Please let us know if you'd like to see this column continue.

I remember I made the Mushroom and Carmalized Shallot Strudel and it was in the Nov. issue. Can't say for sure about Dec.

I hope they didn't and bet they didn't eliminate it. I'm not vegetarian, but I love a good vegetarian recipe now and then.

I echo laughsandlaughs concerns. Although not a vegetarian, I am making a concerted effort to eat less meat and have relied on the Inspired Vegetarian section for, well, INSPIRATION. I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if this column has been abandoned.

Perhaps it's just on temporary hiatus through the holiday-heavy-on-the-roasts-and-desserts issues...

Hi, Julie--

You're exactly right; the column will return with our January/February issue. We're glad to know you guys miss it when it's not there. :)

I'm not sure, but I think that Inspired Vegetarian is not a "regular column", thus it's only in some issues... I also read on this board that they've had a high turnover in who writes that column. That might have something to do with it.

I agree, if it goes buh-bye, so might my subscription.

YAY Cindy! Thanks so much for the reassurance- you've made me a very happy reader. Lisa- hang on to that subscription! :) .
Actually, I rather like the ever-changing contributors- they've all brought a different perspective on meatless fare to the CL table.

In the meantime, I've been able to repeat some of my past favorites. Last night it was Baked Polenta with Swiss Chard from April '01 (I think). Mmm mmm...

Oh, I'm so glad. That was my secret hope but I was definitely worried. I think I, too, would have had to reconsider my subscription if that column left. Thanks, Cindy. And thanks laughsandlaughs for asking! I had been wondering but hadn't thought to post about it.
