Can anyone tell me if they've made this recipe? I am planning to make it tomorrow night and would love to hear what ya'll thought about it.

Nova, thanks for answering. The sauce is simmering right now and it smells great. Tonight I am going to have it over pasta and then make the Baked Rigatoni with Beef that was next to it in the magazine on Saturday night.

I just made tomato sauce using the last tomatoes from the garden. I do add a little sugar to my sauce. This time i did add red pepper flakes since I just saw M Stewart having Mario saying it adds a "kick" to the sauce. I just looked the 4/2000 recipe using canned tomatoes I will keep it handy now that tomato season is soon to be over...

Hey there Liz....
I just ran across your question...I have gone back to school and now I don't have time to check the message boards everyday. They sure pile up fast!!! I hope this response isn't really late, but I have made that recipe probably 20 times since I got that issue! I really like it and use it to substitute any tomato sauce a recipe calls for (ie. lasagna, pasta, even pizza!) And for those nights I dont have time, I freeze it for a quick meal. Its also a great base recipe and you can improvise certain things. I always add mushrooms, or using red peppers makes it sweet. I've even added yellow squash and zucchini to it for a vegetable sauce. Hope this helps.
