View Full Version : Opinions Please
I'm trying to decide whether to buy The Complete CL Cookbook or the CL Annual Recipes 2000. I've read through the 2 threads recently posted. I've purchased a couple of the CL Annual Recipes cookbooks in the past. Just wondering what other's opinions are...
Also, I see a CL Daily Planner 2001 offered. Does anyone have this? Good/Bad???

I got the Annuals since its easier for me to track a recipe down. The other book had great reviews but you would find the recipes in previous Annuals. Its made of the best recipes (1,000?)...Or...you could get one now & ask "Santa" for the other http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Well, I have them both. There were a few years that I didn't buy the annuals but I really like the format of the Complete...
A lot of the recipes have suggested menus and there are some with really detailed instructions like the Blasted Turkey. I am planning on using that recipe for this Thanksgiving.

I am facing a similar dilemna. I have the Annual Recipe Cookbooks from 1997 through 2000. Today I received an offer in the mail to buy the Complete Cookbook for around $20.00 which seems like a good deal. I wonder how many of the recipes in the Complete Cookbook are recipes prior to 1996. It would be nice to have those, but I don't want a lot of duplication... Do they have an index in it that is organized by yearly recipes so you can see how many are from old issues?
Decisions, decisions!! I will be watching for other opinions on this subject.

The Introduction pages to "The Complete Cooking Light" says that it has the top 10% of the 10,000 recipes published since 1987. Plus it has a sections on the 10 gadgets you need, 10 pantry items most used, 10 "splurge worthy" items, 10 essential herbs, 10 healthy foods. While there isn't an index of years, I think the book is worth the money unless of course you have purchased all 12 or 13 Annuals.
