Has anyone tried to make their own baked tortilla chips? Will flour tortillas work, or does it have to be corn? Do they taste good? Any advice would be apprecitated.

Missi, I've made these before by cutting up corn tortillas into trianges and spraying them with a little olive oil flavored cooking spray. I would just bake them for about 10 minutes on 350 degrees. When they're hot from the oven sprinkle on some salt.

I've never made chips using flour tortillas, but I do make garlic chips using them. Same directions, but before I put them in the oven I spray them with butter flavored cooking spray, garlic powder and a little parmesan cheese. They're excellent, but I don't thin they'd work as tortilla chips.

Good luck.

What timing! I just made some flour tortillas into chips last night. Made the Mexican Bulgur Salad with Citrus-Jalopeno Vinaigrette and needed something to go with it. Made up some salsa and baked some chips. Quite good and I love that salad!

I use Fat Free flour tortillas and slice them like a pie and spread in a single layer on a sprayed cookie sheet, spray them with cooking spray to add a bit of moisture and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Then bake around 350 but it seemed to take longer than I thought it would - 15+ minutes. I check every minute or so after 10 minutes because in the past I've burnt them (seems the FF ones are more prone to this).
