ISO - Holiday Appetizers

We are getting together with friends on Saturday night for our annual Christmas party. Everyone eats a light supper before coming, then we are to each bring a "yummy" appetizer and dessert. I am at a loss for an appetizer. I want something special and/or festive (not a relish tray or cheese ball type of appetizer). It will have to be transportable (we have a 30 minute drive to the party). Any ideas would be appreciated. I don't mind spending a little bit of extra time to prepare it, if need be.
