I work five days a week, like most of you. Get two off. On those two days I have to do EVERYTHING personal. Including grocery shopping and laundry, and try to have a few minutes to read a book or see a movie.

At 11:20 today I dropped my car off at the tire store for 4 new tires. I was told it would be an hour and a half; two hours at the most. So I walked to a little restaurant and had lunch, checked out some shops, and returned about 12:20. The guy who took my order was back and forth from the front desk to the garage about a million times. He kept coming back and apologizing for the length of the wait. Said it would be just a few more minutes.

I'm trying my best to be patient; I know they are busy on Saturdays. Finally about 10 minutes to 3:00 I had to go ask the guy what was up with my freaking tires!!!

He said "Oh it's been ready for a while."

!@#%#$$^@@$!!!!!! You mean nobody let me know it was finished??? I checked the invoice. My car was done at 1:20 pm. I sat there from 1:20 to 2:50 waiting patiently for them to call my name!!!!!

He gave me 10% off my total bill. A grand total of $20 compensation for sitting there an extra hour and a half of my precious Saturday. Just my luck!

Thanks for letting me vent. I just couldn't believe it. Still can't.

Deanna, I am so sorry. I would have been SO angry about that. They KNEW you were there and just let you sit. It is one of those situations where, for me, after getting mad about it, I would have to decide to just laugh. Sorry it ate up your Saturday. :(

That really does suck, Deanna! I think a lot of businesses forget how precious people's free time is to them.

Speaking of tires, a few weeks ago DH took his car in to get new tires. After he got the car back home, he thought to actually take a look at the new tires. They looked suspiciously like his old ones, including how worn they were. So, he took the car back, where they told him that they must have 'forgotten' to put the new tires on! BTW it was a 'TiresPlus' store - I think they are a chain. We will never be going back to them!
