After you've had a cold or something like that, how long do you wait to work out?
I'm sitting here at home getting over strep throat. I'm starting to feel better, and I'm on antibiotics. (Thanks in advance for sympathy.)
I'm used to working out at least five times a week, running, lifting weights and yoga, but I am getting a little antsy to move around. Still, I don't want to overdo it. I was thinking of taking a little, slower-paced walk tomorrow and trying yoga on Friday.
Just curious what other people do. I don't want to turn into a total slug this week!

You should just listen to your body and do as much as you feel able. Don't exercise if you're running a fever and I would wait until you finish the anitbiotics before you do anything very strenuous.

Hope you feel better soon!

I usually don't work out the first day I'm sick, or if I really feel like crud. Rest is much better for me, IMO. But usually I'll try to work out on my usual routine. I find that I get over my illness a lot quicker if I'm working out - don't know if it's the endorphins or what. That being said, I haven't had any "big" illness (like strep or an ear infection) and haven't had to take antibiotics since I've started working out again, so maybe your body needs a bit more rest.

I agree with SusanT - let your body tell you what it can do. A good friend of mine gave me this advice: Go ahead and start, if you feel like crap, you can always stop.
