Having just finished some leftovers for lunch I felt compelled to tell ya'll about a receipe variation I tried. Having made the Shrimp Orzo recipe from 3/00 many, many times and having my SO comment, "wouldn't this be good with sausage instead of shrimp?" many times, I thought I would try it. I bought some Gerhard's Chicken Sausage with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Mushrooms, cut it into bite sized pieces and used it instead of the shrimp. All I did differently was saute the sausage in the olive oil( and removing it) prior to putting in the onions and garlic to saute. Then when the recipe called for the shrimp to be added I just added the sausage then. It was really good. By the way for you Weight Watchers, it only added 1 extra point per serving. It was delicious!

Thanks iqueen. I bought some Gerhard's Chicken Sausage a few days ago and wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with it. I've been looking for some recipes, and you gave me an idea for at least one.

Any other ideas for chicken sausage?

It's great on pizza too! Also, any kind of pasta. Enjoy.

The sun-dried tomato sausage is a new one for me - I'll have to find and try soon. I have however, tried the apple sausage from Gerhards which is GREAT. We cook it up with potatoes for Sunday breakfast occasionally. On the newest package it suggested serving with apricots and french toast which sounds delicious as well.
