I was thinking the same thing! But since it's a combined Jan/Feb issue, perhaps it will come a little later than usual.....

Great minds think alike! As I was signing on to the BB this morning, I was thinking, "Hmm. Today's the 18th. Wonder if anyone's gotten their January issue yet?"

Great minds and all that stuff. I went to the mail box yesterday thinking the same thing.

I think Grace is right... It seems to me that the Jan/Feb issue came out late last year, but it was well worth the wait! I won't start looking for it until after Christmas!

Same here. I was in the store last night and most of the January magazines are on the stands but the December CL is still there.

I thought I heard somewhere that beginning with 2002 CL was going to a full 12 issues a year. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

LOL, Grace!!!!!!!!! And I almost MISSED this thread, too! :)

While we were in Birmingham in June, one of the editors did mention that the "goal" was 12 issues/year. But at least as far as I can recall, they didn't say specifically WHEN this may start. I have to admit, I have wondered if it may be with the new year 2002... oh my, wouldn't that be most AWESOME?!!! :)

Just MHO but since no one has gotten their magazine yet, I don't think the 12 issue thing is going to happen this year...

I still haven't received my issue but wanted to report that January and February are combined again for 2002.

I thought it might be a full 12 issues this year, but I just saw on the home page under "In this month's issue" that it's Jan/Feb.

Wow, laden, thanks for the tip! I just checked it out, and it gives an "overview" of what's in the new issue! (Something I LOVE seeing!!)

Here's the link for anyone else who can't wait to see what's coming....

Oh, and the Cooking 101 class section is featuring CHOCOLATE!!! (as opposed to the usual ethnic cuisines they did in 2001).

Well, I got mine today, but I was in such a hurry, I didn't even notice what was on the cover! I'll take a peek tomorrow and let you know.

[Next Morning]
OK, just to let you know how rushed I was, it wasn't my CL that came, it was Sunset. It had a food picture on the cover, so I just assumed it was CL! Sorry for the false alarm.

Cooking 101 featuring chocolate...I like that! I actually wasn't that fond of the ethnic sections.(SorrY)

I like the sound of the tomato section, too. Maybe I'm not the only one who starts craving "summertime foods" at the beginning of January.

It must be on it's way because the picture of it is on the CL web page! The Jan/Feb issue is always late... I must be patient!

Think positively---the later it is the less time it will be before the next issue!! BTW, I got my Jan/Feb issue (here in rural Illinois) on New Year's Eve. Am I really going to have to go buy a jar of mango chutney to make the mulligatawny recipe?

I got mine today and I did a quick run of the pages. I want to make the Chocolate Bundt cake and a few other things already.

One thing I hate about this issue is that it is a LONG wait until the next one, as it is the combined Jan/Feb. I guess that is why they send it out later - so it makes the wait seem shorter.

One thing though, I expected it to be a bigger issue than it is. It's on the thin side.

funnybone, I was thinking the same thing when I glanced through mine (came today). Seemed like fewer recipes than usual (judging by the length of the index) and definitely short for a double issue.

Oh well, I am still in awe of the Complete CL I got a few days ago so that will carry mr through the long, harsh winter!

I am very excited about the tomato recipes and the chocolate and the fast soups. Probably will find more that grab me when I go through it in more detail.
