On a previous thread, a lot of people had recipes for stuffed mushrooms. I'm thinking about trying these and have a question (kind of a "dumb" one). When you cut off the stems, is there a place to actually "stuff" the mushroom? Do you have to make one, or do you sort of put the stuffing on top of the mushroom? Finally, do you look for large mushrooms? Thanks for any help!

No question is stupid!!
After you clean the mushroom you can simply twist (with a little force - but don't beat up the mushroom) the stem out of the mushroom cap. This should leave you with a place to put the 'stuffing'.
When you twist the stem, you will hear a little 'pop' that will be thte stem seperating from the cap.

Once the stem is out, I then fill the mushroom with the stuffing, then round it on top as well.
I don't look for big mushrooms, I just buy a regular package of them. I like having different sized ones because I prefer the smaller ones while my SO likes the bigger ones.
Just as an fyi, many recipes call for slicing the stems and putting it in the stuffing.... that way it is extra mushroomy! Gina
