The Curried-crab cakes from Sept? took a while to make but were worth it with a nice salad. I served a really easy poached pear recipe for dessert. The ginger in the pears makes a nice help in digestion
However, the chicken marsala casserole was very easy, but rather bland. There was too much "white" sauce. I am going to try the shrimp marsala. Any reviews on the Chicken, Fig, and Rice in Oct?

I made both the Chicken & the Shrimp Marsala. The Shrimp Marsala was excellent, but the Chicken Marsala Casserole was very bland & a little more time consuming.

I made the Chicken with Wild Rice and Fig Pilaf about a week ago and we both really liked it. My husband esp. loved the flavor of the pilaf, which is unusual for him. You could serve this pilaf with anything really. I thought there was a pretty strong thyme flavor, but I may have added too much - I'm pretty casual about measuring things if I'm not baking. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif I ate the leftover pilaf for lunch and it was even better the next day!
