Since we all seem to agree on one thing-this bulletin board is a cheerful, helpful site to share our passion for food, I thought it might be fun to talk about our favorite recipes which we have tried from the BB. Anyone?

I haven't tried any yet; however, based on Sneezles recommendation I did make the CL recipe for Chicken in Wine Cream Sauce. As I posted before, it was scrumptous. I am looking forward to trying some of the recipes I have gotten from the BB though.

Two recipes stick out in my head as being particularly wonderful:
Gail's eggplant meatballs were excellent. Even my husband (the meat eater) agreed that they were a "keeper".
The Banana's Foster cheesecake I made for my dinner party (gleaned from the boards, but from Epicurious) was superb. And the Raspberry White Chocolate Truffle cheesecake was just as good. It got raves at another gathering!

I cannot remember who posted the recipe, but the Kahlua Cinnamon brownies are so very good!
I also made slow roasted rosemary chicken and that was very good. I can't remember who posted that one either!
Oh, and let's not forget Mama Sue's streusel topped strawberry cream cheese muffins! Those are so very good! I have to make more of them soon!! Excellent!!

I too, didn't keep track of who originally posted these, but I would like to thank them for these recipes that I tried and really, really liked!
Sweet Potato Waffles
Very Berry Muffins
So far these are the only non CL recipes I've tried, but I also have a FAT folder of recipes I've printed out and really want to try!! I just went through that folder and there are so many different wonderful ideas just waiting for me to attempt. I look forward to it, and I love all the new and interesting ideas on this board. Thanks to everyone who shares and gives their reviews, as I love those the best!

I second the good review of Mamasue's muffins - very good. I lightened them (they were quite fattening at about 20 grams of fat per muffin or something like that!) and they were still wonderful!
I also tried Vanessa's recipe for Shrimp Brushed with Chipotle Butter - very, very good.
There have been MANY times where I've been prompted to try things I would not have tried if not for the reviews on this board. The Spaghetti Pie comes as one example that I'm so glad I tried - it's wonderful!! Also the Tomato-Basil soup - there's more, but I can't remember them all!

Hi - please bear with me - I'm new here - but tend to hang around - love it - how does one find - as an example Lorilei's scallop and shrimp linguine and Sneezles Chicken in Wine Cream Sauce? Don't get annoyed - but where are they now and how would I find them? Thanks Lanie http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Don't feel bad. I was here for months before I knew about the "search" feature. So, in the right-hand area of your screen you will see a little tiny "search" next to FAQs. Type in the name of the recipe, or an ingredient and you'll get a list of threads to check out. There's also a way to search under the name of the person.
It isn't infallable-- sometimes things simply won't come up. Dunno why. Oh, and since you are new here, you should know. We changed to this board June 13. Prior to that CL was using different software and all those posts had to be eliminated. Thus, there's sometimes the remote possibility that a recipe referred to was on the old board.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Gail!!!! Found it - think I am challenged!!!! I have a really great Seafood Linguine recipe - do I post here or do it somewhere else - don't get mad at me http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif??????
I have to second a few favorite recipes...
The monster cookies are fabulous and I really love the Farmers Market Casserole (easy and reheats well).
Just today I was thinking to myself, while devouring a piece of delicious quiche, that I needed to thank Lorilei for her Quiche recipe. I make it all the time. Check it out at:

I have so many more that I want to try. I can always find the best recipes and ideas here. Thanks.

Going to see if I can DO this - if it works this is excellent but not from CL - hope that's ok - were probs on another site!!!
Seafood Linguine
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 large onion chopped
6 garlic cloves minced
rosemary & oregano
28 oz. can tomatoes chopped
salt & pepper
1 cup dry white wine
1/2 c. parsley
cooked shrimp, crab, lobster, scallops (whatever combination of just one - sometimes I buy the imitation crab stuff)
Melt butter and oil - sauté onion and garlic until golden.
Add wine, cook until evaporated and golden.
Reduce heat add tomatoes, spices, salt & pepper ( you can do ahead to this point)
Add the seafood of your choice (scallops take about 5 minutes to cook in sauce) I like crab, shrimp and a can of lobster meat but basically any combination works)
This is an excellent recipe - it came from a cookbook by Jill St. John.
Oh my ____ I did it! ha! This is really good and you can cut down on the butter/oil ratio.

I too cannot remember who started the various threads but:
the triple fruit scones that someone posted--were popular and quite delicious--thank you!
I also made the parmesan crusted chicken with apples and leeks after the rave reviews here and also that is why I decided to try the lemon swirled cheesecake. thanks everybody.

Silly. Why would I be mad at you? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/rolleyes.gif
The recipe looks yummy, but are you sure you wanted to publish your personal information rather than editing it out?

Okay, I give up. I just tried to do a search for Gail's eggplant meatballs, which I somehow missed the first time around, and I couldn't find them. Gail, help! Can you direct me to the thread? or even re-post??? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/confused.gif
Thanks heaps (of meatballs),
Phoebe http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
Oh, Phoebe... You're not going to be happy. The recipe has beef in it! In case you want to look, just for the sake of looking, it was on the favorite appetizer thread:

Sorry.

Super idea! I was going to post separately, but this seems like an appropriate forum.
I made the mexican cheesecake appetizer and the mango cheeseball for a party last night (along with some yummy red pepper hummus from Gourmet).
Both were devoured and everyone thought I was the greatest (I heard "I can't believe you make your own hummus!" more than a few times). I just wanted to thank those kind souls who posted those recipes. Both were a hit!

What a great way to thank the kind souls who took the time to post their favorite recipes! I have certainly benefited from their input. Here are some of my favorites:
Mhami: Minted-Molasses Pork Tenderloin
BethR: Sheila's Pork Tenderloin
Lorilei: Crab and Scallops Fettuccine
Grace: Farmer's Casserole
Someone's (I apologize for not having the person's name. I just printed up the recipes): Lightened Waldorf Salad, Spicy Corn Cakes with Smoked Cheeses and Chilies, and Monster Cookies.
I have a folder of many other recipes I have printed for future use. Thank you all for posting them on the bulletin board. I also rely heavily on everyone's input on the CL recipes.

Someone had posted a recipe from Prevention magazine for ricotta and spinach stuffed shells that I made earlier this week and they were very good. I changed a few things (everybody's likes/dislikes are so different) but this recipe is definately a keeper. I apologize for not remembering who took the time to post it though!

Gail --
Ah, no wonder I didn't copy down the eggplant meatballs on the first go-around -- I notice you even warned us that it wasn't vegetarian, so I may have skipped it altogether. But it does sound so interesting that I've copied it this time, and maybe I can think of a way to use the rest of the recipe. (Hmm, I wonder what it would taste like with potatoes and eggs instead of meat...?)
Anyway, thanks!
Phoebe
Phoebe,
If you ever do figure out a workable vegetarian variation on the eggplant meatballs, I'd be kind of interested in hearing about it. Dunno why exactly-- for some reason the thought intrigues me!
