Desparate -?s about Honeyed Apple Torte & Cinnamon Apple Cake

I hope ya'll can help me, I have 6 people )older relatives) coming for brunch tomorrow and can't decide whether to make Honeyed Apple Torte or Cinnamon Apple Cake. I have done a search and there are lots of votes for both. Any thoughts on whether one would be better for brunch?

Also, both called for springform pans, of which I have none. Would a good quality cake pan work?

Beth, I would have to cast my vote for the Honeyed Apple Torte. I've served it a number of times always to rave reviews. I think it would do well for a brunch. I have to admit that I have not made the apple cake (although it looks wonderful!). The apple torte though was pretty and tasted wonderful. It was one of those that I actually made look as good as the picture in the magazine!

I don't see any problem making it in a cake pan. Just cut and serve from the cake pan.
