Could I be?

OK, I'm kind of going crazy here. We've been kind of trying for baby #4 (I know, we're nuts!) Well I'm only one day late. I'm going to a New's Years party tonight so I really wanted to know if I was pregnant so I would know whether or not I can indulge! Anyway I took a test. After about 3 minutes, the test window showed a line, but the result window nothing. OK, so I go back and check in about 10-15 minutes and there is a very very faint line in the results window. I mean it's there but you can barely see it. Does this mean I could be pregnant, or is it invalid after a certain amount of time? I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar testing experience. I guess I'll skip the champagne tonight and wait a day or two and retest.

I worked at Planned Parenthood and a line was a line, no matter how dark. Congratulations! Play the Rachel from Friends game of drinking champagne, take a sip, then spit it out :p

I wanted to say I don't think you are crazy. I grew up #3 of 4 kids and absolutely loved it. If DH and I can afford it, we want 4 kids too.

I would have had to run right out and buy another test! I couldn't stand not knowing for sure! Congratulations if you are!

BTW, it was 5 years ago today I found out I was pregnant with DD! :D

Thanks guys! I just read that other thread, it had good information, although it made me sad for Christine! If you are reading this, Christine, how are you doing?

I actually bought a pack of 3 tests at Costco (only $8.99!) so I have two more. I'm going to try again in the morning and I'll let you know the results! I don't think I am going to say anything to my husband until I have more definite results.

JoanneOR I can relate to your questioning of the test. This time around I took a test and the test window line didn't color, but the pregnancy line did! I was totally confused and waited two days and took it again (combo pack for me too). That time both lines showed bright and clear. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I guess with respects to the alcohol tonight, better safe than sorry. How about a bottle of sparkling cider, thats what I'm drinking tonight.

This happened to me with my third pregnancy. I actually took the test 2 days before my period was due because we had been trying and I just felt pregnant!!! (by the 3rd(or 4th!!) you just know!!). Anyway, there was a faint pink line, so I waited about 4-5 days, repeated the test, and it was glowing in the dark!!! so my guess is congrats are in order. And by the way, false negatives are not uncommon with pregnancy tests(home tests, that is), but the percentage of false positives is very low,so.......CONGRATULATIONS!

Joann- same thing with my test, but a line is a line! That's what the directions said. I tried the test again the next morning and still got a faint line. I think it depends on the amount of hormones in your system. I heard the same thing about the home tests- there are no false positives, but there are false negatives. Congratulations!!!!!!!

I think 4 kids is wonderful. I wish I could afford to have more kids and to stay at home with them. Two might be our limit, although I wouldn't mind having three (if I could skip over the first trimester, that is! Ugh, the sick stomach is horrible!!)

OK, I've now taken three tests. The first was the faint line, the second negative, and the third today was a faint line again. So, I think I am, but I'm still not sure! I need to go to the doctor, I guess! I may wait a few days and try another brand of test, though.

Call the doctor!! They'll probably do a blood test to find out for sure. Besides, we can't wait much longer to find out!!!
