Just thought I'd post some random reviews of some old CL recipes I've tried recently. Feel free to tack any of your old reviews onto this thread.

Lemon Honey Drop Cookies (Dec. '00)-These are good, but the honey flavor is a tad too pronounced for my tastes. They are a very soft, cake-like cookie. I made them on Christmas Eve and they are still soft! So, in short, it's a tasty cookie and we've eaten almost all of them, but I probably wouldn't repeat them. I have a recipe for lemon sour cream poppy seed cookies that I liked better. Oh, and I used low-fat yogurt instead of fat-free yogurt, because that's what I had.

Citrus Cream Cheese Pull Apart Rolls-These are fantastic! After reading the reviews, I decided to cut back on the sugar and on the glaze. Otherwise, I think they would have been too sweet. I also added a few more dried cranberries. I used Rhode's frozen rolls (36 rolls in a 48 oz. bag) and 18 rolls (instead of 24) worked out perfectly. I made them on Christmas Eve and loved them so much that I made them again this morning. I will repeat this one often.

Bree's Lentil Tomato Soup-The jury's still out on this one. It had a good flavor, but something about this soup just turned me off. After reading the reviews, I decided not to puree it all the way. Well, I think the texture bothered me. I think I will puree it tomorrow when I have it for lunch and see if I like it better. My husband thought it was just OK, too, but he did eat 2 bowls. To be fair I did do a few minor things different...I used twice the garlic, less than half the amount of cayenne, and added fresh lime juice at the end.

Glazed Sesame Pork Chops-This was good and easy, but probably not worth repeating. The sauce was very thin and I wouldn't say that my meat even got "glazed". My husband liked it more than me, but he didn't take any of the sauce and covered his pork chop with steak sauce! I'm just not a huge pork chop lover though. This just wasn't anything out of the ordinary.

Can't think of any others off the top of my head. It looks like the only one I'll repeat is the Citrus Cream Cheese Pull Apart Rolls. :) It's one of my favorite CL recipes now.

Just took the Spicy Oatmeal Crisps (Dec. '00) out of the oven and they are delicious! I was nervous about the black pepper so I only used about 1/8 t. Next time I might use the full amount (1/4 t.). Also, I didn't have fresh nutmeg, so I used Penzey's ground mace. Beware that these cookies spread a lot. A definite repeater.

Boy, I'm on a roll today. I made 4 CL recipes today...3 of them were new (to me). Tonight I made Maple-Mustard Pork Tenderloin with Caramelized Apples (from the CL Super Fast Supplement). We really enjoyed this and it was easy to make. Next time I think I will cut the rosemary in half though. I served it with broccoli that I sauteed with olive oil, garlic, crushed red pepper, Kosher salt and pepper and also with buttered egg noodles. I could see me making just the apples to go along with another meal.

We thought that this was a good lentil soup. We didn't puree it at all and it was fine. With the leftovers, we made pasta, added some of the soup to make a sauce then added parmesan cheese. We thought that the leftovers were much better and it thickened up. We think that the flavors mature and it was really good with the pasta. Also, with lentil or black bean soup we like to add salsa to spice it up.
