I have a friend who is about to have a baby and I want to help out by cooking a few meals that would freeze well. Any suggestions?

I have been experimenting with freezing some meals, and have found that lasagna freezes well as well as marinara sauce and meatballs. Quick breads (like pumpkin bread or zucchini bread) also freeze very well - I even think they sometimes taste better - so maybe you could do a batch of mini-muffins or quick breads for something different.

As a mom of two boys, I can tell you that this gesture is MOST appreciated by new moms!! My MOMS Club brings new moms meals for a week or two and it is WONDERFUL - especially if you're not lucky enough to have family in the area to help out.

Start lining them up Mrs. R.!

As one who just had a baby in August, I heartily agree that this is a wonderful thing to do! A couple more ideas: chicken and rice, baked ziti, & strips of grilled chicken (can be used by themselves, on salads, or in lots of different recipes-great to have on hand!).

You may want to do a bulletin board search using the words freezing/frozen/freeze because I know this has come up before. Here's one of those previous threads I found: http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/Forum1/HTML/000864.html

My all time favorite is meatballs. Make some good sauce, some good meatballs and freeze together. She can use them for meatball subs or good ole spaghetti and meatballs. Yum!

How kind of you Nancy - I wish someone had done that for me!
